New path for everything...

So, I haven't been here in a few months I think maybe almost a year, and boy have some things changed and hell some have stayed the same,  but today is all about new things, experiences and new ways or roads I'm going to take with both blogs and my channels.

For those of you who don't know I have two channels and two blogs, two of them in english and two of them in spanish.  All four of them have been about beauty for most of the time, and I think is time we change that, beauty is great and even though is one of my biggest passions, I feel like I'm not putting everything I can out in the world.

You see, a few weeks (months) ago I read a phrase on tumblr that said "be the person you  needed when you were younger" and that really resonated with me and where I want to take my channels and blog into, not just into a channel/blog that talks about outer beauty, but a place where I can share experiences, talk about topics that are important to me and to you guys,  like eating disorders, anxiety, love, confidence, anything really that matters.

I want this to take this to different places where you can come here when you want to hear funny stories, or talk about a serious matter, if you are sad you can come here and if you are happy and want to share something you can come here too, I just want to change this into something I want to be even more proud of, and feel like I can inspire at least one person into seeing the world a little bit different and love it just a little bit more, I just want to make this a place where I feel happy to come to, and a place where you will feel happy to come to as well, so if you have any topics or any questions about ANYTHING let me know, so I can make a video/blog about it!

And get ready starting now, we are getting candid, honest and very open about things, so you can expect tears, laughter, seriousness and many other feelings being shared through the internet and on the way to get you!

Getting healthy, my path to a different lifestyle with Tone It Up! #Toneitup #TIUChallenge

Today is the day, that was my first thought when I woke up this morning, yesterday, will on Sunday I subscribed to Tone It Up, I bought the bundle and several different Nutrition Plans they have. For a while I've been doing their exercises videos on Youtube, and to be honest they have really helped me, and I have changed a little bit, didn't really loose weight because I wasn't on a diet, but now, everything is going to change, you know the quote "New year, New you", well that's kind of my motto for this year, I want to really change, not just say it or do it because I'm told to.

Since I'm still waiting for the Bundle, I have already started with the exercise and the Nutrition plan, I'm really excited about it, maybe is the fact that I'm actually doing it, even if it is one day, or the fact that no one had to tell me I needed to loose weight, which to be completely real with you, it normally happens every freaking day in my house; my mom and my dad, god bless them, think the best way to get me to loose weight is to keep telling me that I'm overweight, which by the way, it doesn't help me in anyway and it actually makes me angry and I tend to eat more. So I keep telling them to back off, but they actually never listen.

Here's the thing, I've been watching them (TIU TEAM) for a while now, and I have always loved their bubbly personalities and energy they show on camera, that has always really attracted me to their videos and web page, finally I decided to join and see the community. The girls supporting each other, incredible changes and many other things that I've looked for but never really found. Today I got to download all the exclusive workouts and nutrition plans that I bought, and it is a little overwhelming probably because I bought all of them, but the way they describe the workouts, the videos, the recipes (to die for) everything makes me excited about the challenge, about the fact that I can actually change my life, also, reading their stories, Karena and Katrina, the drugs, the chubby little girl, it made me relate to them (I don't do drugs, lets just get that out there) in more ways than one. It made me loved them even more, it made me want to change for the best, like they did.

Now, one of the things that I love about TIU is the community, the way everyone is there for each other, sharing pictures, recipes, dreams, goals, I loved it! one of the things the girls say to you is to promise yourself "something that your heart feels and wants", and to write it down, also they tell you to set your 5 goals for the challenge, so I'm writing them down, now, because I might forget...
  • Since I can remember, I've always been overweight, I've tried around 100 different diets, shakes, and everything in between and nothing has really work in making me change for real, so what I really want is to GET HEALTHY, yep you guessed it, making a lifestyle, a healthy one, not for my parents, not for a guy (btw, I don't think you should change for anyone) I just want to do it for me, to get a better and longer life, to get confident, I want to see myself in a mirror put on a bikini and not been afraid or ashamed of myself, I want to be happy on my own skin, I want to follow my dreams, and to do it, I need time, and self confidence, loving myself, which in the weight and unhealthy lifestyle I'm on, I'm not going to get there anytime, so that is my promise, changing the unhealthy freaking lifestyle that I'm on to a Healthy lifestyle, by basically loving myself.
For goals:
  • Get better in physical ways, get more exercise in, maybe not just that but to get a better physical... something I forgot the word, but you now, basically get my ass out of the couch and get moving.
  • loose weight, loads of it, but I'll probably do more than one challenge to actually do it.
  • Get confidence, sometimes when I'm exercising I don't feel good, because the clothes don't fit me, I'm out of breathe, I want to change that, also, the way I feel when I look at myself or a picture or anything...
  • I want to learn how to eat healthy.
  • Actually doing the exercises, all of them, pushing myself to the limit, I think that's the biggest one!

Marya Zamora Rewind of 2015

So last year was full with incredible, sad, awesome, heartbreaking situations, of stupid mistakes and other things, most of them good and the others, well you get to learn from them.

2015 for me was the year of getting confident, getting to know myself in was that I didn't know I could and moving forward in ways that I normally don't do.

Ok so to start of January, I met this awesome band Moonlight Dub Xperiment, they are a pretty big band, that is a reggae dub mixed with other different styles, I started working with them, but by October I was already out of the band, either way I liked spending time with them, and i got to learn a thing or two, talking about bands; the one band that've stayed with they are called Evolet, and they are an indie-rock band, which is more my style, and to be honest the concerts with them, they are pretty awesome!

In a career perspective, when it comes to makeup, well I had the incredible experience of being in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week San José, here in Costa Rica, by obviously being one of the makeup artists, I got to meet incredible people, and I got to experience something I never had before. Also I just finished my career, well the classes, now I only have the practical part of it but it will only last for four months, so that's cool.

And to my incredible surprise I hit 300 Subscribers on my English Channel Marya Zamora YT Channel, which was my goal for 2015, and that made me so happy and I cried like the little baby that I am, so Thank you for giving me the gift of enjoying sharing my life with you guys!

When it comes to a personal level, well a lot of thing happened, realising that some part of me grew form the little insecure little girl and no it only cares about what I want to do with myself and if I want to get better, it's my own decision no matter who and why they are telling me what the hell to do with my body. My own promise, self confidence, fat shaming

Another happy thing that happened to me, was definitely getting in acting class, I've met so many amazing people from that class and I'm so happy to have them in my life. Also most of them became really good friends with me and we've had an incredible time getting to know each other and working in things like the pop art zombie pictures!

When it comes to my family, happy and sadness hit us in every single way, one of my uncles got cancer, and to be honest the worst thing about it was seeing my mom cry, she was devastated, but thankfully he came through and recovered, pray he doesn't get it back.

But form the really sad part, that to be honest I didn't know how to handle it, my grandfather died, he had cancer too, but he didn't survive it, again seeing my father cry was the worst part, look I know it sounds bad, but my grandpa, with he's loving and careful ways, he was gone, there's nothing I could do about it, but my dad, hey seeing your parents and any member of your family cry, believe me it will crush your soul. I just pray my grandpa is happy and watching over, with the rest of the members that are gone.

To be real, happiness was everywhere this year, even in the sad moments, there was always a silver lining, a way for us, for me to learn and discover new things, new ways of doing, control and confronting situations, that no matter how hard they were, they made grow and become the 23 year old that I am now, so Thank You 2015, for giving the experiences that I needed to become a better person, to make me grow as a human being, to fight for what I believe in and for giving me another 365 days to enjoy, 2016, bitch I hope this year, I'll fulfil a lot of my dreams!

I hope you guys have an incredible 2016 and as my life motto says: "Dream without limits, Keep moving forward, Love Yourself First" (yes, I didn't invented them)

Bringing Make Up to Costa Rica || Marya Zamora

Ok, so a lot of you have asked me how I order from USA or Europe and get it to Costa Rica, honestly it's pretty simple and easy. A lot of people get scared about it, but honestly it's not scary at all but you do have to be careful!.

So here are my tips:

1. Look around for products that you want or may need, look through the internet there are millions of websites where you can look up reviews of products and see it work, so decide what you want and why you want it.
2. Look for different prices, different opinions on the products, and start saving some money (not necessary) this way, you can have some time deciding what you want.
3. have in mind what you want to buy, it's easier this way since you just go right into what you want and don't get overwhelmed with the amount of products and start buying everything on the website.
4. When it comes to bringing the makeup from USA to C.R, you'll need a locker, actually not necessarily but it is better and more secure,  that way you get free 3 day shipping from most of the websites to the locker and then from the locker it gets to C.R, normally they charge the weight of the box where your products are in and the prices depends on the weight obviously.
here are some of the ones I use!

http://www.crbox.cr/
https://www.myspeedbox.com/Credomatic/
https://www.correos.go.cr/
http://www.webboxcr.com/

5. From Europe to C.R, normally I get the product directly to Costa Rica, because it gets more expensive if I get to USA, so that is where Correos de Costa Rica comes in handy, it lasts longer, probably, but it still secure (at least I haven't got in any trouble).

So, yeah, those are my tips, check the video because I say a lot more things about this topic, anyway I hope you like it!.

Anastasia Contour Kit Review

Ok, so the last two months or so I have been trying this new palette, I've applied it on myself and on my clients, to make sure I get to see it on different skins and colors.

The ACK comes with six different shades, three of them Highlighters and the other three are contour and bronzing powders. I'm pretty sure the palettes comes in two maybe three different shades, and you can also get the powders individually.

The names of the powders on the top row are: Vanilla, Banana and Sand.
The names of the powders on bottom row are: Java, Fawn, Havana.

To give pointers to this palette, it is amazing, it's not extremely pigmented to where you apply the Banana shade and have a yellow streak down your eyes, but it still covers enough to get a beautiful look to the skin, also you can build the powders, I have done this several times on my clients because it's better to star with little and go all out.

Highlighters:

Sand: This is a pink shimmery highlighter, it looks better on pale skin color, but medium toned people can still work it. It is pigmented enough for it to be noticeable, but it's not BOOM! In your face.
Banana: This color is perfect for highlighting the under eye area, the yellow tone makes the darkness of the under eye go away, without it looking gosthly, which can happen with other powders.
Vanilla: This powder as a slight sheen to it, but it still works perfectly to apply to the under eye area, it has a peachy tone, so it is perfect to make yourself look flawless.
Normally I mix Banana and Vanilla to apply underneath my eyes, I find it has the best tone for me, and most of my clients.

Contour:

Havana: This is the perfect shade of matte to give you a slight bronze to the skin, yet still keeping it matte .
Fawn: Perfect for contouring, this is a color of brown with grey mixed into it that makes the perfect shadow to put underneath your cheekbones.
Java: Great to give contour and make you bronze-y at the same time, I prefer to use this one when I want a more natural conotur on me and my clients, just because it's less grey on the skin.

My Story, My Path: Relapse, Positivy & Confidence

I cannot begin to describe how difficult it begins to get once you start the process of recovery. Some days is not hard and others you feel so down, you don't want to keep going, even though you know you need it. I've been good-ish a few days and some others I feel like I've relapsed, but not completely. just to explain this a little better, I'm been eating a lot better, but there are some nights were I feeling the lack of control and I need to eat something else. Sometimes I can fight it and sometimes I kind of cave in, but there is something that comes into my mind, and I realize I need to stop the bad thoughts and the anxiety, or at least keep it at bay.

I think probably most of us talk ourselves down, we are our biggest and worst critic, and that I've found is one of the biggest realizations I've made about myself. I've always felt okay with myself, I'm not saying that I have a huge self-esteem but I also don't lack it. I'm proud of myself in my professional make up artistry life, but not in other areas, I sometimes feel confident of the way I look and sometimes I feel like crap. Then and there is where we have to change our thinking, become positive about ourselves, about what's going on around us, our love life or lack there of, our choices, etc. Is all about making a negative thought become a positive one, the hardest thing to do is identify them, want to know why? Because we do it so often in our mind, that we don't notice them, that is why is the hardest thing.

Now, when it comes to changing something negative to positive is all about perception, the way we see things. Sometimes when I get conscious about what I'm thinking I start telling myself the things I love about myself, the things I'm proud off, so that I can feel better about myself and stop feeling like the victim.

Staying positive is the only way through recovery, if you are in a similar journey like me, take it one day at a time, don't worry about what's going to happen in five minutes or what's going to happen tomorrow, worry about your happiness, about the MOMENT your living.

My Story, My Path: Understanding eating disorders, Changes and Recovery

It has been about a month now, since the first time I went on to get therapy for Binge eating, one of the few things I've noticed in some of the closest people around me, is the even though they understand the concept of eating disorder, they don't know what to do or how to help. Let me tell you, you'll need a LOT of help from other people like your family and closest friends to get through recovery.

Trying to understand why someone does something to themselves, is not easy especially when it comes to parents, but you need to talk it out with your family. Sometimes it might be hard, but it's not the end of the world and the faster they understand it and your feelings, its starts to get a little bit easier for the recovery part. When I told my closest friends about this, some of them were amazed, they couldn't believe it, and then some of them just didn't know how to react.
It really depends on you if you want to tell your friends about it, but in my case, I love my friends and I know they will be there for me no matter what. After telling them, I asked some of them (like my bffs and the ones I spend more time with) that I need them to help me out. In my case I tend not to sleep much, and the binging starts at night, everyone in my family falls asleep earlier than me, so when I start to feel like I'm about to get out of control, or most of the times I already got out of control, I call them, to talk, basically trying to distract myself from it, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't so I just get in the shower at 3 am... (btw I think water is my element it calms me down that's why I do it).

For those of you out there that want to understand or at least get a better picture, all eating disorders are the same, and most of them connect in some ways. By the same I mean this, all the feelings of lack of self-control, the dieting, the looking in the mirror and not feeling good, and many other stuff is the same in all of them, and sometimes they connect, someone can be binge eating and then they throw up, or they don't eat all day long and then binge eat, it's all connected and it's all under one roof.

I've always had anxiety, that is one of the biggest factors on my case. Since the day I started therapy I was already more positive about all the changes I could make, and how to make them, the thing I realized latter on, its easier said than done... who would've known right?
Part of therapy are some readings and exercises you need to make, I remember that one of them was making a list of the things that I'm afraid of, why I think I tend to binge eat, and then setting goals to change them.
That little paperwork has done it's number on me. I'm a research kind of girl, I like to know things, get more reviews about stuff, get different views on things, so the first thing I did was investigate about the disorder and things that can help with recovery. It's all a mental game, so I started to meditate, try to relax, at least twice a day for 10 minutes each. It's hard, I'm really hyper so just sitting down breathing without trying to move or think about something else, was hard, strange and sometimes I felt out of place, but I kept doing it, and I think I'm getting better at it.
Besides that the greatest thing I found was an app, it's called Rise Up Recovery it has pretty cool features and it's definitely the major reason I'm started to control myself a little bit better.

First of, It always has several positive phrases to get started. Positivity is a huge part of recovery.
Also the check In is where you put how you are felling and the "amount" your feeling it.

In actions, it has if you've one anything like binge, expressed gratitude, purged and other stuff, you need to add drugs or medication you've done, and then it also has notes.

When it comes to the things you've been eating I believe this is the best app, you can indicate the time you are eating your meals, how you feel, if you ate with company, where you ate, what you ate, it also has notes and an option for when you skip a meal. Again it has the target behaviors, where you can honestly put what you have done before or after the meal.

Coping Skills are a few positive advises and exercises you can do to get better, which is actually pretty cool. Setting you can find the option of setting reminder, the times where you want to eat and it keeps you eating small portions, but all day long. I think this is one of the reasons why this app it's my favorite, it keeps me under control, as soon as a eat anything I write down, if i'm feeling anxious I put in there, and look for advise. I t all about wanting the change!

The time for a change starts with yourself, you decide if you want to keep on hurting yourself or not, I decided to change!

Tarte Tartalette Palette Review

As you all probably know, I'm a Make Up Artist/ Beauty Blogger, so trying out new products is what I do (yes, it is a excuse) anyway, Tarte has been one of the biggest brands I've seen and I've always wanted to try their freaking amazing Amazonian Clay blushes, but I've always thought they are a little bit expensive, let's get real, I'm not a millionaire to be spending $30 on a blush, so I've waited to actually get something that was worth the money.

I've seen so many Youtubers talk about this Tartalette palette and how they all love it, so I decided to jump in with everyone else and buy the palette. When I got it I was surprise, it wasn't what I expected, I don't know if this just happens to me, but everything seems so much bigger on YouTube, that's why I was so surprised.

Packaging:

I love the whole concept of the palette. The mirror like gold packaging caught my eye since i first saw it and then the ombré purple that has a the top makes it really easy to fall in love with it. On the inside it has the same gold like mirror and it has a huge mirror

Eyeshadows:

This specific Tartalette palette has 12 eyeshadows on it, each is 0.053 Oz. All of them are matte, and it's range of colors it's for everyone. It has warm, cool and neutral colors. Super-pigmented eyeshadows, easy to blend and they are amazing for everyday use and for smokey eyes.
The first row are warm colors, the second row are cool toned and the third row is a bit a mix, but mostly they are neutral.

From left to right: Free Spirit, Force of Nature, Dreamer, Multi-Tasker, Caregiver, Natural Beauty, Best Friend, Bombshell, Super Mom, Wanderer, Power Player, Fashionista.

The Lights

From Bottom to top

These three are a bit more powder-y than the rest, but still blend to perfection. They are perfect to use as highlighters, wash of color or to be the main color on the eyelid.
  • Free Spirit: Yellow tone, perfect for darker girls to use as a highlighter.
  • Caregiver: Pink-y light, perfect to brighten your eyes.
  • Super Mom: Vanilla like color, perfect to do a light wash on the eyelid.

The Transition

From Bottom to top

These three color are great for the transitional color on the crease, the transitional color is no meant to really be noticeable, but it helps blend any other darker color that's going to be put on the crease.
  • Force of Nature: light yellow-y brown with peachy undertones to it. Also works great to put to the bottom lash line to open up the eyes (for everyday use).
  • Natural Beauty: light brown with purple undertones to it, great to add a bit more color to any brown or black smokey eye.
  • Wanderer: a mustard-y neutral color, this is seriously perfect to blend any eyeshadow on the crease.

The Creases

From Bottom to top.

These are perfect for the crease, all over the crease, as a cut crease, anything in the crease of your eyes.
  • Dreamer: Medium Brown, I see it like a neutral brown, it's perfect to give more definition to the eyes.
  • Best Friend: Medium Purple, again this is perfect to give a little pop of color without it being too much.
  • Power Player: Medium brown, cool toned, perfect to use as a liner to give more definition to the eyes.

The Showoffs

From Bottom to top
These color are heaven on hearth, perfect for the outer corners of our eyes or just the base of a smokey eye.

  • Multi-Tasker: warm tone dark brown, this color for me is perfect for an everyday brown smokey eye.
  • Bombshell: Dark purple, this looks great as a pop of color on the bottom lash line or as a liner.
  • Fashionista: Black, it looks kind of green on the picture, but it is a true black, easy to blend, perfect for smokey eyes, outer corners or just to blend any black eyeliner on the bottom lash line.

At the end of the day, just buy it, this palette is perfect, it has all the color you pretty much need for work or a party, is easy to carry and amazingly beautiful to look at, so... what are you waiting for?

My Story, My path: Binge-Eating Disorder & Inspiring others

In the last few months a lot of things have happened in my life that have given such a huge weight on my shoulders, it hasn't been easy and it has destroyed me, little by little. We are getting personal here, I'm telling a few of the things that I have being going through but remember there are still somethings that are too personal and involve a lot of other people that I'm not in the place to share.

I told you before, that I wanted to change the blog and make it more lifestyle. A few of the things that I've being going through are not easy but I want you guys to come with me through the process and inspire other girls and boys to help each other, to stop judging and to be a good person.

I don't know about you guys, but i'm not an angel. I have been bullied and I had bullied others as well, not good at all, but I want to change that, move on and Keep moving forward (my life motto), the simple reason for this, the recent diagnose of an eating disorder.

Getting into my Story:

Now let me explain a few things, I've always had Anxiety and no, it's not a way of getting attention, is not easy to control, but you kind of learn to live with it, or at least that was what I was thinking until recently. Also, I've always eaten when I get sad or when I'm nervous and that it one of the things that caused me to be oblivious to the fact that I was eating about everything, honestly it didn't matter if I was happy or sad, every single emotion I feel or felt, for me is related with food. A lot of things started to catching up with me, and food was my way out, until I realized I needed help, I couldn't control myself, sometimes I felt lost (Honestly I still do) and the lack of will is sometimes to much to handle.

The Diagnose:

If you haven't notice already, the Eating disorder is Binge-Eating. I asked my family for help and let me tell realizing and asking for help is not easy, when you think about it is admitting that you are weak in some way, that there is something in you that is wrong, is no fun. But you'll soon realize you are not alone, which is very important. After I started treatment with a psychologist, I realized that is not a weakness, is just a stone in the road I'm walking, trying to stay positive is the BIGGEST goal I have. I have to set a reminder for myself that I need to be positive, to control myself, to let go of things. I'm one of those that keeps everything on the inside until one day I just burst.

Inspire Each Other:

B.E.D is like any other eating disorder, you've got the same feelings, feel the same awkwardness with your body, fell conscious all the time of it, you lack control, I'm still in the process of recovery and hopefully I'll get there, I just want to say this to anyone that is out there, eating disorder or not, mental illness or not, YOU ARE NOT ALONE, I know is hard but ask for help, help others in order to also help yourself, don't judge because you don't know what path the others have been trough and it's not your place to do so.

BTW, My Story, My Path it's going to be the new weekly, series of blogs posted on Wednesdays, talking about B.E.D, Self esteem, Helping each other, and obviously my process through the eating disorder, I hope you enjoy!
If you have any questions don't forget to leave them in the comments below!
See you soon Loves,
Marya Zamora.

MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer Review

Hi everyone! Long time no see, I just wanted to give you a little, I don't know, disclaimer, I've been dealing with some personal stuff that hasn't allow me to be on youtube or in here,  and I will be explaining why and the whole process that I've been going through and many other things, but for today I wanted to give you guys this review on these Lip lacquers.

MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers

First things first (I'm the realest, I-G-G-Y references anybody?) ok, according to the site the description of the product is the following: "Get the ultimate velvet-matte pout with this richly pigmented, silky smooth lip lacquer. the quick-dry formula glides on effortlessly to leave a gorgeous matte finish, that is smudge proof & long lasting".

Texture:

When talking about the texture they have, I don't know if it because they are velvet or because my lips are hella dry, but they feel kind of weird, it has a creamy texture to it, but when it starts to dry it starts to feel a little bit different, it's kind of hard to explain, but that consistency I think is the only thing that I'm not really comfortable with.

Packaging:

I love this packaging it kind of looks really expensive, but you can be sure it won't break, or maybe mine have super powers because I've dropped them A LOT. Ooops, clumsy girl, but it demonstrated that the packaging is actually really good. Oh, yeah and the doe-foot applicator makes it easier to follow the lines on the lips, which makes my life easier. They are 6ml each, so it is a normal size amount of product.

Pigmentation:

HELLA PIGMENTED, that was going to be all I was going to say, but the brightest orange kind of went a little patchy on me, but nothing really noticeable, so I'm fine with it. You'll be able to see the pigmentation in the video!

Quick-Dry formula/ Smudge proof and Long Lasting Claims:

it dries really fast, which is actually a good thing, it's not necessary to apply to coats of it because it is really pigmented, but i like it really REALLY opaque, when it comes to smudge proof, for the first few minutes obviously is not, but when it dries, damn that stuff is not going anywhere... until you freaking drink or eat. It is more Long lasting than normal lipsticks but is not like 12 hour wear, so you'll need to re-apply it throughout the day. When it fades, it fades weirdly on me and I mean weirdly because any other lipstick for me fades from the outside to the inside, and this ones fade from the inside out, which I have no idea why but I found it interesting.

I have gone to work with this Lacquers on and they have lasted me a really long time in all of my running around and talking to everyone, so I think they are amazing, and let's get real here for a second YOU CAN'T BEAT THE PRICE! Love and Friendship Day!

I think for a lot of us single girls and boys around the world, sometimes, maybe we don't feel the greatest this time of the year, because normally we see everyone that is on a relationship rave about it, but I think that's why I prefer to keep calling it Love and FRIENDSHIP Day rather than Valentine's Day, besides one of my friends has his Birthday on that same day, so I won't have to spend the whole day wandering where my other half is... so you don't have to feel that way either, it doesn't matter if your spending your day alone, do what I used to (basically I celebrate Halloween TWICE a year, ha ha) watch a scary movie, eat some popcorn and go take a bath, and find the best way to relax and give a little love to yourself!

Okay, so since "Valentine's Day" or as I prefer to call it L&F Day, is just around the corner (BTW, in most Latin American countries we celebrate love and friendship day) I decided to give you a few tips on what to do to get ready for a date, what to do if your spending your time alone, and some advice about getting through this day (sometimes is hard)...

I'm gonna get a little personal here and tell you a little bit about my story...
So, my one and only "boyfriend" "asked" me to be his girlfriend on exactly February 14th, and you know I had baked him cupcakes with little hearts on top of them... so I kind of have a love/hate relationship with this day. Two years have passed by and I can't believe how much I've grown from that, because it wasn't a good relationship, but it still hits me (on the face, with a slap) the fact that I'm single, and that every single guy I like, likes a different girl, they don't like me, I'm friend zone, or just not interested in a relationship. To be completely honest I really like being single, I get to concentrate on my career, my blog, YouTube, and I don't have to spend money on someone else that is not me (YAY!), but sometimes I do wander when I'm going to find that "special" someone, but I'm not worried about it, because right know my mind is set on getting my life on track, my career where I wanted, and I still don't know if I want to get married.. so, yeah you don't have to feel bad about being single, it's pretty awesome!

Moving on to the specific topic of this blog, the first part: Getting ready for a Date.

  1. Plan ahead you date. Decide what you want to do, something really cool like go karts or something chill like a picnic in the park.
  2. Pick your outfit accordingly to what you are going to do, fancy dinner, movie date, theater whatever it is, some places are for heels and fancy dresses, other are for flats and cool t-shirts.
  3. Give him/her something special. I'm a HUGE believer in handmade presents and hand written letters, I'm really good at writing my feelings (actually better at writing them than telling them), and in the past the reaction of my friends and other people to my letters has been incredible! So try it out and if you don't want to write a letters there are plenty of DIY ideas on the Internet to try out! But always something hand made with a special meaning (like an inside joke) is always something cool to add.
  4. Enjoy the date!

Second topic of the blog: What to do if your spending it alone.

Hey, really don't feel bad. There's a saying in Costa Rica that goes something like this: "It's better to be alone than with bad company" which basically sums up why we're single right?  ha ha. OK, now for real this time. Spending time with yourself might be one of the greatest things in the world, I've always love spending time alone, because even when I'm alone I've never felt lonely so I'm OK with it and so should you. You know what, one of the things you can do is watch my videos on YouTube and subscribe, that'd be great by the way.

Make a list of things you want in your life, like a big house and awesome job, where you want to live, and describe why you want those things (and what exactly you want in each one), think about your hopes and dreams, how to achieve them, get a plan set up in your head about how to get something you want. I don't know if it's just me, but I love when I write down things that I want to do and somethings a little rough sketch of how I'm going to get them, maybe it's just me I'm a little weird.

Catch up with some reading whether your reading a book ( I recommend #GIRLBOSS, Bossy pants, Are you there vodka it's me, Chelsea; Game of Thrones, any Stephen King books, I've got some reviews here for you to check out!) or a blog or listening to books on Audible, like Yes Please.

I honestly don't think any of us are going to have a lot of time, some of us work and study, or just study... procrastinate, mostly.. and most of us only have the night to have time for ourselves so, that's why I didn't put a lot of things to do. BTW, you don't necessarily have to spend time alone, go out with your friends (single friends preferably) a girls night out or guys night out never hurts anybody, or do a slumber party, I know I'm 22 years old but having a slumber party at this age is one of the best things ever, if you feel fancy make some tapas and drink some wine, or beer and wings, hummus, pita and some beverages, it's simple is easy and you get to catch up with your friends without the whole "I have to be cute to go out thing", or you can go dancing, bowling, karaoke night, skating night, paintball fight or laser tag night with your Friends, a feel good activity is all you need.

Last but not least, my advice on getting through this day.

Look I know is not everyone that has a love/hate relationship with this day, but I do, so I'm writing this part for myself and probably for someone out there that has the same relationship that I do. As I said before, that relationship wasn't good and when I needed him the most he ran away, so bye bye don't let the door hit ya' on your way out.. but on this freaking day I'm reminded of what that was like, and thanks to that I've discover a few of the thing that I don't like on guys, and what I actually want on a relationship.

Being single is not a bad thing, right know I don't feel like I can have a relationship, I've discover things about myself that I'm worried about and I need to get my life back on track, by myself and with some help from my family, anyway... single is the state of mind that I have had for a while now and I'm happy with it, I feel good and for the moment I feel complete (at least in the love segment of my life) I'm still trying to find my way, and having someone with me right know is not going to help me get there is just going to distract me. I know a lot of you probably went :O when I said that I still don't know if I want to get married and is not because I don't believe in love because I do, way to much, but for the moment I don't feel like is the "thing" for me and no, is not because I want to be sleeping around with everyone, it's honestly because I feel like I'm not really the family type of girl, at least not right know, maybe when I get older I will but right know I'm running away from it. It's not because of my age, I have some friends and some other girls around my circles, that you can see they want to get married as soon as they can and have kinds and be the working-housewife-mother type, but I just don't feel that's for me. I think someday I'll change my mind, and I hope I do, and right know, being single, figuring myself out, getting where I want to get in life, I feel like that's what I'm supposed to do, so yeah... YAY FOR US SINGLE PEOPLE!!!
